The Windsor-Essex International Children’s Games Volunteer Recruitment Committee, led by the United Way/Centraide Windsor-Essex County has reached its goal of 900 Volunteers.
“The ICG has been holding recruitment events in Windsor and around Essex County since February”, said Project Coordinator Karen Brady. “The support from Windsor-Essex residents has been tremendous.”
The committee is still seeking some specialized volunteers who speak a second language to act as Team Ambassadors for the athletes.
“If you speak fluent Korean, Hebrew, Cantonese, Ukrainian, Slovenian, Thai, Russian, or Japanese, we want to hear from you,” says Brady.
Volunteers are required to commit at least four hours of volunteering. The Games will take place between August 14-19, 2013. Registered volunteers should expect to hear more about their role in the Games by mid-July.
